5 Tips to keep yourself moving forward

Bringing in the new year can be a daunting task to set yourself if you're not careful about your goals! I know I have found myself overwhelmed by the sheer enormity of to-do lists and figured, I can't be alone in this. 2019 is going to be my year, I keep telling myself this, but I was not really sure what that looked like in practice. For the past 31 days of January, I have managed to set myself some achievable tasks and narrow down exactly what I needed to do in order to be successful in meeting these goals.
Here are 5 tips that have helped me over this month!
1. Stay Focused
It is so darn easy to get distracted! I know I always do. I probably have about 10 different projects happening at once as we speak. I have managed to keep myself focused on just 1 of those for now, and move ahead with that before looking into others.
2. Prioritize Tasks
Write out a list of smaller tasks that you need to complete in order to make it to your goal. I started listening to podcasts to inspire me and see what exactly I needed to have ready first. I decided that one of the things that needed major rebooting was my website. So, I focused on this and WA-LA, I have one! I worked hard to take the right photos, find the right words, re-design the look and feel, and I think I am happy with it. That was the task that I wanted to complete first, because then once my products were ready, I could launch them straight away!
3. Content Create
I have learnt, and heard from podcasts of other successful entrepreneurs time and time again that planning content is a necessity. Don't just hope that you will find something to post about each day! I'll raise my hand for being guilty of that, totally am. I think it's because I worry about going stale, when in fact I should be concentrating on having enough content to keep me hydrated for a month rather than wasting energy on creating something from nothing!
4. Allocate time in the Day
This is something that has been a HUGE help in motivating me and keeping me moving forward. I make sure that I sit down and allocate a specific time to do something towards my business. Whether that be writing a blog post, thinking of content ideas, doodling illustrations in my little black book to be digitized, little things count! But if you get into the habit of just forcing yourself to sit down and do something, then it will make you feel much better!
5. Good Coffee - never to be underrated!
I know all of these things take time out of your busy days (especially if you are a side hustler still, like me!), but they are worth it. Come on! We can do it ladies!
